Our Story

Our mission at Dex-Lab is to contribute to the sustainability of our workforce through the use of social robots to assist with social tasks that are repetitive and routine.

 

Robotics are already a big part of our daily lives. Through daily interactions with smart home systems and things like vacuum robots, we have already entwined our lives with robots and foresee this relationship evolving even further in the near future.

The fields of healthcare and education are particularly receptive to the benefits of social robotics. Despite having yet to be adopted at scale, we truly believe that our robots will add tremendous value to end users by simultaneously increasing engagement and decreasing the strain on human workers in various sectors.

2020

THE START OF DEX-LAB

Dex-Lab originated as a Nanyang Technological University Research-led Program on Social Robotics.

 

It has since grown to become a pioneering social robotics solution provider for healthcare, education and service industries that focuses on executing social tasks to augment manpower productivity as well as improving user engagement experiences.

2021

DEXTRON IS DEVELOPED

Dex-Lab develops Dexton, a cloud-based Robot Operating System (ROS) that integrates A.I. chat functions, robotics motor control, robotics animation module and client remote control module all under a robust system.

 

This power house ROS has been designed for robotics developers to easily integrate new motors as well as dynamically animate robots without writing a single line of code.

2022

CREATION OF DEXIE

Dex-Lab develops Dexie, a multi-competent social robot for use in the healthcare sector.

​

Its Dementia Care Program is proudly co-developed with industry partner Goshen Consultancy for use at nursing homes for people with dementia.

 

The development of the Dementia Care Program marks a significant milestone for the aged care industry as it is the first of its kind to offer a "ready-to-go solution" that impacts the nursing home residents and augments manpower.

2023

DEXIE'S WIDESPREAD ADOPTION

DexIe makes her way into residential care facilities for the elderly across Singapore and we collect feedback regarding her integration.

Early adopters such as All Saints Home and Grace Lodge respond with overwhelmingly positive feedback - Dexie works well, and both their staff and their residents adore her. 

2024

FURTHER RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT

Working upon the feedback collected from various homes' trials with Dexie, we begin the process of research and development to address their concerns and their wish lists for Dexie. It's clear she is making a significant impact on people in these settings. 

2025

DAISY IS RELEASED

Dex-Lab develops Daisy, our second humanoid social robot. Purpose-built to expand the range of functionalities offered by her predecessor, Dexie, Daisy was developed with feedback from our early-adopters in mind.
